Mluleki Ndoba was arrested for the death of Sindi Magak

Leading ANC Kwazulu-Natal leader Mluleki Ndoba was arrested in connection with the killing of former leader of the ANC Youth League Sindhis Magak.

The provincial secretary of the party confirmed to TimesLIVE that Ndoba was first admitted for questioning and later arrested.

"It's very shocking, it's a shelter for the ANC," Ntuli said.

Police spokesman Bheki Celea, Reneil Serero, said: "I can confirm that one high-ranking official of the Municipality of Harri Gvala was arrested.

Ndobe is mayor of the municipality of Harri Gvala and serves in the provincial working committee of the ANC.

Previously, he was Deputy Provincial Secretary.

"It is very worrying for us, but we are a party that respects the law, so we will wait for the outcome of the legal case," Ntuli said.

Ndobu was refused entry into Magak's house after killing by rampant demonstrators.

In September 2017, Magaka died at Inkosi Albert Luthuli hospital from a firearm wound after attempting to assassinate two months earlier.

At that time his family claimed to be poisoned, but the autopsy found that it was not true.

Last year, one person was arrested in connection with the case and appeared at the Umzimkhulu Misdemeanor Court.

KZN police spokesperson Thulani Zvane did not want to comment on Noddy's arrest and asked all questions to Čeleu.
