BROOK PARK, Ohio – After playing a major role in the agency on Monday and proposing a budget, NASA's Glenn Research Center's rising trajectory has increased further.
Glenn was the only clean research center shown on NASA's television show, set up mostly in the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, crossing the Johnson Space Station in Houston and Glen. Seven other NASA centers remained in the dark.
In the meantime, President Trump has asked the Congress to allocate $ 21.02 billion for the fiscal year 2020, slightly less than the $ 21.5 billion the MPs gave to the fiscal 2019 agency. The Brook Park Center has already risen from $ 697 million in 2019 to $ 850 million this year.
It's not bad for the center that took up jobs in the mid-2000s and said it was doomed to failure.
"It's like day and night," said Thomas Hartline, director of Glenn's facilities, tests and production late last year.
NASA Glenn tested a low-boom low-skip model in 2017 and should test the latest version in May. President Trump proposed another increase in the budget for Glenn, this time by almost 4 percent. Marvin Fong & The Plain Dealer.
Since that decade, Glenn has suffered a number of budget threats, partial federal closure, and a major change of targets from one president to another. Ruben Del Rosario, director of aeronautics at the center, says NASA needs strong Glenn no matter what.
"The mission can change," he says, "but the techniques and research that you need do not change so much. The challenges keep us relatively stable." Year after year we continue to be budgeted more than expected. "
Spokeswoman Glenn Jan Vittri says NASA believes Glenn "because of our rich history and strong expertise in space power and propulsion, and our space for testing in the world class universe."

Two researchers spoke on Monday about Glenn's leading work in power and propulsion, past and present. The center manages the design of an energy and propulsion element for the Gatevai platform, which should circle around the moon in the long run.
Glen also manages the design of the module for controlling power, propulsion, air, water and climate on the Orion spacecraft, which is due to visit the Moon next year and deliver the first part of Gatevai – that element managed by Glenn in 2022.
Orion was supposed to return the astronauts to the Moon in 2028 and ultimately take them to Mars.
