Works began on the new Australian airplane of 12 floating open-air ships, with the first steel welded in shipyards in Adelaide in Osborne.
The main contractor and designer Luerssen Australia has committed to building an OPV on time and on the budget, with the first two to be built in Adelaide and the rest in Perth.
"This is an important day for both Luerssen Australia and shipbuilding shipbuilding in Australia, which points to a bright future," said Luverssen Australia president Tim Vagner.
