More than 250 families living near the Graneiro, Ubayar Dam in the Ibiapaba region were evacuated on Saturday (16) in a preventive manner in the event of a dam. The information was discovered by firefighters and mayor of Rene Vasconcelos in a direct broadcast on social networks. Some of the families were transferred to relatives' homes, while others were sent to the Shrine of the Mother of the Queen, located in the Sao Sebastiao district.
Since March 11, weed intervention has been subjected to civil protection assessments due to the chances of a break after heavy rains. Rene Vasconcelos said that the risk is minimal, but that the transfer of the river community is a measure of prevention. There are about 513 families in the region.
According to the fire department, the teams went to the construction site together with the Municipal majority in Ubajara and municipal civil defense agencies and assist in the withdrawal of families.
The new water bath, according to the mayor of Ubajare, opens for Graneiro Dam. It is expected that the works will be completed between Monday (18) and Tuesday (19).
Vasconcelos said that some measures, such as setting slides for monitoring water levels, were carried out in the reservoir.
Neighboring municipalities, such as Ibiapin and Tiangua, also help in the operation by sending security teams, ambulances and transport.
