ABOUTOrganic food is more expensive, but it has a lot of health benefits.

The French study, which was recently published in JAMA's internal medicine, is followed by 70,000 adults (mostly women) for five years and concludes this people who consumed organic food often had a 25% lower risk of developing cancer, in comparison with those who have never given priority to this type of food.

Those who ate organic vegetables, fruits, dairy products and meat had a lower incidence of lymphoma, as well as significantly reducing the risk of postmenopausal breast cancer.

"We expected to find a reduction, but this result is much more significant" said Julia Baudri, lead author of the study and research of the Center for Epidemiology and Statistics Research at the Sorbonne Paris Cite National Institute of Health and Medical Research, France.

"From a practical point of view, the results are still preliminary and are not enough to change dietary recommendations on cancer prevention, "said Frank B. Hu, author of the Harvard School of Public Health Chair T. Harvard, Chair of the Harvard School of Public Health.
