On February 12, VhatsApp informed the Supreme Election Court (TSE) that it did not work to push messages on its platform. Demonstrations were given in actions that were opened to investigate the alleged use of incitement during election campaign by elected President Jair Bolsonaro.
According to the platform, the application service sends messages and services are not provided for the Bolsonaro campaign.
In this Monday(12), Facebook and Twitter also notified TSE that the official pages of the elected president did not employ push messages during the election campaign.
The information was transmitted to Platforms to the TSE's Bolsonaro Responsible Rapporteur, Louis Robert Barroso, who through the area of responsibility of the court informed the companies "to identify the contracting of content promotion in the global computer network in favor of a candidate elected to the Presidency of the Republic."
This year, for the first time, promoting content for election campaigns was allowed and regulated. The rules stipulate that this kind of service can be contracted only by parties, coalitions and candidates. The cost must be identified when showing an account. Messages allowed by fans are not allowed.
In October, the TSE launched court inquiries to investigate information published by the newspapers Contact us |, from which entrepreneurs hired mass mail through VhatsApp to use Bolsonaro. Campaign denies knowledge. If proven, practice can be characterized as a grant donation campaign.
