Can the fish oil supplement and vitamin D protect us from the disease?

American doctors have discovered that fish oil and vitamin D in the most common dietary supplements do not reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer.

However, in higher doses prescribed by doctors, fish oil helps people with high levels of triglycerides and reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular disease.

Experts welcomed the results of two studies presented at a conference of the American Association of Cardiologists. They said that these are guidelines for a new treatment option for hundreds of thousands of patients.

About 10% of Americans drink fish oil additives. Still, they use vitamin D, although no major research has been done on their benefits.

"Vitamin D supplements say it's useful for everyone, but in this study, vitamin D proved to be one big thing" "said James Stein, a cardiologist at the University of Visconsin-Madison, who was not involved in the research.

Fish oil, also called omega-3 fatty acids, is found in salmon, tuna and some other fish. It lowers triglyceride levels and reduces inflammation. There are different types of fish oil with different dominant fatty acids.

With one study, doctors at Brigham and Vomens Hospital in Boston monitored the effect of a 4 grams of fish oil that is only available on prescription. The study included 8,000 patients with high triglycerides and a higher risk of cardiovascular problems already taking statins. After five years, 17 percent of drunks survived an incident – a heart attack, stroke, obstruction of the arteries requiring medical intervention, into 22 percent of people on placebo.

This means that the addition of high-fat fish oil reduces the risk of cardiovascular events by 25 percent, according to BTA. However, it has side effects such as arrhythmia.

A second study, conducted in the same hospital with lower daily doses of 1 gram of fish oil, including 26,000 healthy volunteers, did not show the difference between adicine and the placebo group, although the first infections were less.

The other team also tested the effect of slim additives. D. Participants of the study drank 2,000 international units of vitamins. D-3 or placebo for five years. The results show that sun vitamin does not affect the incidence of heart attack, stroke or cancer, although they have somewhat declined somewhat.
