Cardinal Sign Andrew Miller – MLB Trade Rumors

10:50 am: The cardinals officially announced the signing of Miller for a two-year contract with the option of the department / club for the third season.

10:41 am: Rosenthal claims Miller will be guaranteed $ 25 million in the next two seasons with a $ 12MM fee / club option campaign for 2021. Miller will be paid $ 11 million in 2019 and $ 11.5 million in 2020, and the option is worth $ 2.5 million. He will also get a full non-trade clause – something Heiman proposed has been a priority for left-wingers last week.

Per Rosenthal, this option will be compensated if Miller makes a combined 110 matches between the 2019-20 season. He can earn another 500K per year on the basis of incentives.

Dec. 20, 18:55: Jeff Passan of Yahoo reports that the two sides are close to a multi-year deal (Твиттер links). Miller, according to Passan, has received more than two years of offers, but asked for a three-year contract. It is still not clear whether the cards went on for three years or significantly increased the value of the two-year bid. USA Todai Bob Nightengale tweets that the Cardinals could find out an agreement with Miller tomorrow.

Miller, 34 in May, had a season in the 2018 season because he missed short runs due to problems with hamstring and shoulders, and also spent a significant period on a 60-day list with a disability due to knee injury. The result was 4.24 ERA with slightly reduced K / BB numbers in only 34 workbooks.

Of course, in the four previous seasons, Miller was probably the best player in the game, riding on the ridiculous 1.72 ERA with an average of 14.5 releases and 2.3 walks by nine innings from 2014-17. With the exception of the 2017 season, he announces the lowest average field trends on a yearly basis, and from ancient times to the 2013 season, the only pitchers in all baseball balls with a better throw speed of 15.7 percent Aroldis Chapman, Craig Kimbrel i Kenlei Jansen.

Healthy Miller would give Cardinals the ultimate left-hand presence they sought at the back of their shooting in recent seasons. St. Louis's four-year contract with colleagues on the left Brett Cecil it still has to pay dividends halfway through the life of that contract. Tiler Lions, meanwhile, showed promise in 2017, but reduced the loss last summer, after struggling hard early in the season. The cards were on several occasions in ties to Miller and Britton, and for a long time it seemed that encouraging a facilitating corpus (ideally with a lever) was on the player's list of wishes.

If and when the deal is over, Miller will join a shooter that has been completely repaired during the flight. Frustrated by the inconsistency of his knee, Cardinals, president of the baseball operation John Mozeliak Greg Holland, came out of Lyon and was busted Sam Tuivailala on sailors within a few days at the end of July. This shakeup, combined with some late-season promotions, gives the Cards a Relief Corpus that consists of Jordan Hicks, Dakota Hudson, John Brebbia, Chasen Shreve, Luke Gregerson i Dominik Leone. Top brochure Alek Reies and a veteran Adam Vainvright, also, both could be an option in manager Mike Shildt.

Gregerson and Leone were in addition to the season 2017-18, but, like Cecil before them, they were in the first start with the team. This will be the third consecutive offseason in which Mozeliak, GM Michael Girsch and the other front office will make a heavy lift in cats, and the organizers hope that the "third time charm" sounds true.

Adding Miller will mark another aggressive, high profile signature for Cardinale, which they have already acquired Paul Goldschmidt from D-backs in a store that sent young MLB-ready assets in Arizona in the form Carson Kelli i Luke Veaver. After three empty postseason, it's not surprising that Cardinals bronze acts aggressively in an effort to outperform the NL Central Brewery Champions and continually train Cubs. Cardinals fans await the post-caliber leaf season annually, and a three-year absence from the October baseball is the longest "drought" of the organization due to the lack of play-offs of each season from 1997 to 1999. As such, it will not be at all surprising if the Cardinals continue to complement what appears to be a much improved list while progressing.
