He died of lung cancer after cystic fibrosis transplantation

After a severe deterioration in their respiratory functions, which are characteristic of the disease, doctors decided in November 2015 to perform lung transplantation.

"Transplanted lungs belonged to a 57-year-old woman who smoked cigarettes every day for 30 days," said oncologists at the Montpellier University Hospital.

The study states that tests performed at the time of donor death did not reveal any kind of anomaly. In June 2017, the patient was admitted to the group of oncology therapy of the mentioned hospital. After two months, he died of lung cancer without attempting to apply any therapy.
