Watch / tomorrow Press:

Scientists are planning to use scorpion poisoning to give drugs to the human brain. The new method allows the transfer of drugs through the protective barrier of the brain due to chlorotoksin (the amino acid found in the name of the scorpion) located in the scorpion joints.

A group of scientists from the Institute for Biomedical Research in Barcelona used peptides (amino acids) that were extracted from the chromotoxin scorpion, which helped transport drugs through a barrier of cerebral blood (which prevents the entry of toxic substances into the brain, preventing the passage of potentially useful components), according to site "Van".

"Ninety-eight percent of effective drugs can not be used because they do not exceed the brain's barrier, and now we have a remedy that can overcome an obstacle," said study author and director of the Laboratory Ernst Giralt.

Experts concluded that "MiniCTKS3" was capable of transporting vehicles through a brain barrier with a very high degree of efficiency.
