A poor organization by officials postponed the preparation of the AFCON qualification team on Sunday in Ethiopia to Addis Ababa.
The technical team was told to leave Akru in Kenya on Monday night without any official from the Football Association of Ghana or the Ministry of Youth and Sports, leaving Coach Appiao and his technical staff and players to hope in Naivasha, Kenya.
"Worst of all, Graphic Sports Online also discovered that the situation forced most players who were found upon arrival at Nairobi airport to hire cab drivers to the hotel team," a portal survey revealed.
"Although the technical team expected most of the players who played in their clubs on Saturday and who will arrive in Kenya by Monday, tickets for the flights could not reach them, which resulted in the arrival of players on Tuesday and Wednesday morning," he added.
Development, Graphic Online reported, forced Coach Appiah to redirect his first training from Tuesday afternoon until 3:00 pm on Wednesday, until the colonel will be in the camp.
As on Wednesday morning, 15 players were reported in the camp. Lumor Agbenenne, Harrison Afful, Jonathan and Andy Iad are expected to join later in the day.
The source told the portal that Captain Asamoah Gian and nine other players arrived in the camp on Tuesday and joined them five more on Wednesday morning.
When contacted, Deputy Secretary General GFA Alek Asante told Graphic Sports that he and President of the Commission for Normalization, Dr. Kofi Amoah, will travel tonight to Kenya to join the team.
He said the stars will hold a three-day training in Kenya from Wednesday to Friday, after which the team will fly to Ethiopia on Saturday at 9:00 am.
He explained that the only player who will miss Sunday in the match will be Kvadvo Asamoah who informed GFA of his unavailability due to the injury he suffered during the Serie A match for Inter Milan last week.
Ghana clashed with Ethiopia in the penultimate qualification of AFCON Group F in Addis Ababa on Sunday.
