"What is your feeling after you won the fifth consecutive title?
The guys worked incredibly well for six years, it was a great time with them. We wrote a new story with the team. If I had to leave Mercedes today, I would always remember that day and become a part and it's really cool. This year was a very difficult year and everyone in that team fought so hard, stronger than ever. And we are more united than we have ever been. This is not normal when we had success in previous years and we could logically descend. The guys continued to increase the level. This race was very difficult for me. But I absolutely wanted to get to the finish line and win the team. It's great to be there. All team members can now take part in the last race before the winter break, knowing they have won the world title and that they are legends.
How did your grand prix go in general?
I did not expect Red Bulls to be in today's race. I thought it would be in the same rhythm as we did. But they were a little faster. We had problems with first-class tires and they could better handle the tires than we did. In the second part, I was on the middle tires and I had a problem with the engines, so I was just trying to cross the finish line to the car.
Did you think that you could resist Mak Verstappen in the last round?
When Max passed me, it was not nice, but he had a Occom case then, and I suddenly returned to the lead. I was on the radio, I told my engineers: "I do not want to give up, I tell you what I have to do." In the end I pushed so hard, I took all the risks of winning. It is a great pleasure, but I want to stay on this wave and win the next race. I'm just a link in the chain. Tim gives me tools and I'm trying to do my best. I am proud that sometimes I repeat something more than what I need or can do. But that's why I live. "
"Mak is a guy who is being overstated"
Levis Hamilton reacted to the clash between Mak Verstappen and Esteban Ocon, who had a lot in the outcome of the Grand Prix: "I saw the incident happen. It did not surprise me, I would have had a different situation in the (la) place (de Verstappen) But luckily, he could continue, no one was hurt, I suppose it was a racing incident, Max is a guy who is overly attacked, and sometimes we are losing.
