John Stamos and Nia Vardalos collect money for the fiery Lion orphanage Greece

Their forces decided to unite, the Hellenic Initiative and Greek emigrants Nia Vardalos and John Stamos, in an online campaign to raise funds for the rebuilding of arms, which destroyed the fires in eastern Athens last summer.

So far, the organization has launched more than $ 200,000 in a special account opened under the name of the Hellenic Fire Protection Initiative.

In the Orden Children's Foundation there were 45 children without parental care who after the disaster found temporary accommodation in Anavissos.

"My heart hurts for these orphans who are displaced from their homes," said Nia Vardalos. "Greeks living around the world are interested in Greece, and the recovery of orphanages is the right way to help these children," he said.

John Stamos, for his part, said: "As a new father, the dangers I face in children hurt me deeply."

In the end, Mark Hadjipateras, a member of the Lions Foundation Board, thanked the Greek initiative: "We are grateful that the Greek diaspora joins the reconstruction of the orphanage for children, the future of Greece."
