Due to the increased kerosene and the late summer schedule, the Dutch airline Vizz Air lowered its prospects for profit, which reached a record high profit after tax in the first financial year that ended on September 30th.

According to a statement released on Wednesday on the site of the airline, the company increased its passenger traffic by 20 percent to 18.8 million in relation to the first half of 2017 and increased its revenue to the same extent to 1.3 billion euros. Within this, daily sales revenues amounted to 25, and the level of additional revenue was 12.5 percent more than in the same period last year. During the summer schedule, flights were delayed mainly due to time and air problems, due to additional costs and high kerosene costs, Vizz Air's costs were 28 percent higher than the one-week level. For kerosene, the company spent 43 percent more than last year.

Operating profit was reduced by 1.9 percent to 300 million euros, but due to the positive balance of financial transactions, the company's profit after tax improved by 1.2 percent to 296 million euros and achieved a new record. However, due to a steady increase in kerosene and additional costs due to delays, Vizz reduced the expected profit level at the end of the financial year from the previous negotiations of 310-340 million euros, and now the company will expect a profit of 270-300 million euros on March 31 next year.
