The US negotiator, who hosted Jimmy Kimmel, took Donald Trump for his response to Californian fires, while the number of victims continued to rise.
At least 44 people were killed as a fire in the north and south of the country, and several hundred more were missing.
A city in Northern California, Paradise, has been virtually deleted from the map.
The president's first response to a disaster was to blame for the "gross bad governance" of forests in California before he stopped to hold federal funds if it did not address.
Mr Trump has since hit a more sympathetic tone, and on Monday he tweeted that he approved an urgent request for the Declaration of Major Disasters and told the victims: "I am with you to the end."
The Declaration makes victims similar to counseling, housing assistance and unemployment and legal assistance.
During the Monday episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host took the target in the city. Trump, citing his first response to the tragedy.

He said: "You probably do not expect much help from the White House. As the fires grew, the president took note of this touching message of support."
Kimmel then accused the president of doing "nothing" in the fight against climate change.
He said: "The federal government manages most of the forest land in California, not the state, which is the one that has cut funding." California actually pays more money to the federal government than it returns, and, of course, it does nothing to do with climate change, why these fires are happening. "
Kimmel, nodding for a vote for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the presidential election in 2016, added: "But why ask yourself about the facts when you can record people who voted for Hillaria for you?"
The negotiating program host then said: "Donald Trump was the only one who went to see Backdraft and rooted behind the background."
Kimmel concluded: "I understand that California is not the favorite country of the president, but he at least pretended to worry about us, like him with Donald Jr."
Ladi Gaga also accelerated the president, tweeting on Monday to criticize his handling of the catastrophe.

Famous like Gaga, Kim Kardashian West and Gerard Butler were among those who were forced to leave their homes to avoid fires.
Butler released a picture of his lost property, which he said "half went", while Miley Cirus discovered she had lost her home too.
Singer Neil Young published a statement on his website to say his house was destroyed.– Press Association
