Korean researchers have developed multifunctional "fibers" that can transmit chemical signals. It is expected to be used as a new generation electronics for future medical materials and high performance artificial intelligence (AI) that can replace vital cell cells.
Professor Tae Hee Han of Haniang University announced on September 9th that they have developed a fiber (tow) that uses two-dimensional nanoparticles to deliver chemical signals more than twice as fast as before.
Although efforts have been made in the past to develop such new materials, it was not easy to find the results of the research that can be practically used. Although it is often used to create special structures using extremely fine-sized "nanoparticles", the internal structures are not even, and the channels of mass transfer of chemicals are not straightforward. It was difficult to do.
The team of teachers can solve this problem and selectively deliver chemicals such as sodium and neurotransmitters. The researchers incorporated nanoparticles into a protected solution and quickly directed nanoparticles in one direction. The researchers also developed a coagulant that in a short time strengthened the nanoparticulate solution and developed a technique that facilitates the production of chemical signal fibers.
The researchers said, "This is the original technology that can be applied to a wide range of people, because it has the advantage of transmitting chemical signals more efficiently than copper wires that transmit only electrical signals (0 and 1)."
The study was published on the Internet by Science Advances, a November journal for science and engineering.
