November 18, 2018 at 16:00 in Riga St. An empty concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Latvian Republic will be held in the church of Sv. Petra – in which the legendary cycle of songs "Daugava" by composer Martins Braun will appear, based on the same name Rainis.

This is a special event, because Raina and Martins Brovn "Daugava" have a great cultural and historical value. It is closely connected with the renewal of the independent state of Latvia in the early 20th century and the path to the renewal of an independent state at the end of the century. While Rainis "screamed" his "Daugava" against killing people, Martinss Brauns is again playing this drama, in a new development, against the loss of people's identity.

This concert will be a surprise for many, especially for those who forgot or did not pay attention to the fact that one of the most powerful songs of the last year's poetry festival "Sun, Thunder, Daugava" ended with a cycle of songs with the words Rain. Listed for production in 1988 in Valmiera Theater, "Daugava" Valentini Maculevič got a new strength in the music of Martins Brovna, becoming one of the most powerful ambassadors of the Third Wake.

The song "Daugava" at the beginning was just an idea about songs, but for composer Martin Braun, this music was always important, so it is not ready to edit it, and also often sits on key instruments that play a significant role here.

Converting theater songs into choral pieces – "Daugavas" premiered a mixed choir and keyboards simultaneously performing in the chamber choir "Birdhouse Union" under the direction of conductor Ivars Berzins, directed by Ugis Brikmanis. The next metamorphosis "Daugava" was experienced in 2016, when the composer created a new version for the choir "Dziedonis" under the direction of conductor Uldis Kokar. Actually, in the hundred year old year of Latvia, the song "Daugava" is performed by the Latvian Radio Choir under the direction of conductor Sigulde Klava.

November 18, 2018 Riga St. In the church of St. Peter, Latvian "Daugava" sounds in the performance of the choir "Gaudeamus" of the Rigos Technical University under the direction of conductor Ivars Zinkus. Soloist – soprano Elis Braunberg and baritone Rihards Rudzitis. The concert will be Arnis Roze (double bass), Ainars Paukens, Anna Katrina Pauksen and Markuss Skraucis (cello), with keys – Martin Brauns, who will not only play the companion, but will also hear the voice of the composer himself.
