Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the restoration of independence in 2020 and celebrating the widest possible presentation of its culture to the world, Lithuania will be able to participate in the Shanghai International Art Festival with special public rights.
The conditions for participation and the program were discussed at a meeting with the president of the Shanghai International Art Festival Catherine J. Wang, Culture Minister Lianom Ruokite-Jonsson.
The Minister of Culture, who was on a working visit to Shanghai, said that in two years at the festival, Lithuania would like to present more details about dance art, theater and music. "The Shanghai Cultural Festival is one of the most appropriate scenes for this.In recent years, the cultural links between Lithuania and China have been considerably strengthened.However, a significant number of Lithuanian cultural and artistic representatives have participated in the Shanghai Art Festival in the past year, 2020 we achieve as many different art and creative industries as possible, "said Minister Ruokite-Jonsson. "We consider Shanghai Art Festival one of the best events of its kind in the region of East Asia, and we are ready to capitalize on our opportunities for our culture and artists."
President of the festival C. J. Wang noted that his organizers were well-known in Lithuanian experience, having successfully participated in international cultural festivals, as well as in current China.
The International Arts Festival in Shanghai is important for artists, cultural creators and organizations. The fair is held at the fair, with Chinese and foreign stage art and concert organizations. Visitors to the fair are visiting producers, theaters and festivals, as well as other artists from the entire Chinese art industry. This festival, first held in 1993, has grown to the highest category of the International Film Festival and is one of the largest in East Asia. During the talks, it was agreed that the special program will visit the Baltic cinema in 2020.
During his visit, Minister L. Ruokite-Jonsson also met with the Shanghai art director of the Shanghai Drama Center Tian Shui, talked about co-operation in theater, organized excursions, invited directors and other joint projects.
