In Leiden and its surroundings, every year thirty people get tuberculosis, some of which are contagious. That's what spokesman GGD Hollands Midden says. On Tuesday, it was announced that a student MBO Rijnland was infected with diseases. The student would have an infectious, open form of TB.
In the Netherlands, 800 people receive tuberkolus annually, says GGD Hollands Midden spokesman. About a third of them have an infectious form. The disease is therefore occurring everywhere in the Netherlands from 1 to 17,000 people.
Symptoms of tuberculosis are general remarks that can occur in many other syndromes. As a result, the disease is often difficult to recognize. The most common symptoms in early stages of tuberculosis are night sweats, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, and weight loss. People with pulmonary tuberculosis usually have objections to cough for a long time (longer than three weeks) and sometimes cough (bloody) mucus.
