Believe that the future car will become a "tablet on wheels"

Volkswagen (VV) believes it is going against high-volume electric cars. By 2025, the world's largest carmaker plans to introduce more than 20 fully electric models and sell millions of electric cars annually.

– From 2020 we will get the first model, the compact car I.D. That same year, I.D. Crozz, says Anita Svanes, Communications Manager at Volkswagen and Harald A. Møller as.

With the models I.D., the VV for the first time produces fully electric cars from scratches with a new platform called MEB as a technological backbone.

The first car is similar to Golf, but with internal size like the Passat. Crozz is a four-wheel-drive SUV and an expected range of 500 km. Also, minibus ID. Buzz, a car similar to the classic VV minibus, was introduced.

Artificial intelligence

The fourth model presented in the I.D. family. is Vizzion. This starts as a future automotive with artificial intelligence and learning functions. The car will also work as a private car and a sharing vehicle.

Inside, Vizzion should have an interactive salon, it will be like a tablet on wheels, promises to the manufacturer.

It will be completely self-powered and becomes like a private driver where a digital "driver" with his safety systems takes control of the car.

The concept car drives, controls and navigates fully automatically in traffic, enabling everyone to spend time in the way they want to work, watch movies or simply relax.

Using Microsoft AR technology, Holholen, the driver should be able to use communication gears with a virtual car assistant. Voice control is also part of the system. The range is planned at 665 km according to the NEDC standard, it is stated in the review.

Electric at the peak of sales

Registration data from the Traffic Advisory Board (OFV) by September show signs that the change started.

For many years, the VV has been registering the latest cars with 14,766 vehicles. Of this, 4854 are pure electric cars and 2398 hybrid plugs, i.e. Cars that can be incorporated and used on fossil fuels. Nevertheless, VV sells most cars with conventional combustion engines – a total of 7504, with excessive gasoline.

The number two on the list is Toyota with 11,622 sales, of which 10,912 are hybrid engine technology. This system charges the electric motor with fossil fuel. Nissan is the third best-selling automotive brand, with 9350 of the 10,820 electric cars.

Also, BMV in fourth place is at full speed against electrification. Of the 8995 new registrations, there are 4000 electric cars and 3020 plug-in hybrids.

The communication director Marius Tegnebi in BMV Norvai confirms the trend.

– The i3 electric car represents one-third of sales. Many of the others are sold as a hybrid charger. By 2025, BMV is planning 25 new electric models, where 12 are fully electric. We aim to sell only cars with low emissions or low emissions in 2025. There is no doubt that this will be the way.

New battery technology

Information manager Espen Olsen in Toiota Norway says they are working on the next generation of solid batteries. This plan will be much more compact and energy efficient batteries than today's lithium batteries.

"It has been discussed about the fact that it will be between 2020 and 2025. However, we will already bring new electric cars from 2020, probably with lithium batteries that we have through the hybrid system.

Olsen points out that the development of electric cars is fast, but that the internal combustion engine can have a long future.

– Maybe not with us where the authorities are clear they want zero emissions by 2025. Most of the flows are managed by a tax. In Africa and Asia, they do not have the same ability that the combustion engine can live for a long time. We also have good faith in hydrogen, especially for larger vehicles.

Trendsetter from Hiundai

The car manufacturer, which relies on all available engine technologies, is Hiundai. Kona Electric brand recently launched. A car that is designated as the direction of development. At a price of over 300,000 crowns, you are approaching the real 500km range. The problem is that you have to expect delivery of 24 months due to high demand.

The Koreans are now selling most of the electric cars in Norway. Hydrogen, which was recently launched as Neko, was only registered between 14 September and September. However, the aqua-filling system of an electric motor that only emits water vapor can be a part of the future. Audi recently signed a partnership with Hiundai on technology exchange.

"In our system, there are electric cars and hydrogen cars that we believe as great drivers," says Product Manager Øivind Knudsen at Hiundai Norway.

He thinks it's important to keep in mind that small-sized cars are at least as environmentally friendly as large hybrids, and modern diesel engines have also become much more environmentally friendly than before.

"In a few years, we will offer rechargeable systems on all our models. These charging systems are probably a transitional phase, but I think the phase can be long, Knudsen says.

Safer cars

Road Safety Advisor Anne Beate The Bud at MA Stainless Traffic believes that the passenger car of the future will be electric and packaged in new technology that will be safer in traffic.

– When lithium replaces the solids in batteries, we can talk about ten times more efficient batteries. Then the discourse discussion will not be interesting. For some time, I think it will work in parallel. During the twenty-year period, I think it is realistic that most car parks in this country have no emissions of harmful gases, "says Budalen.

"For heavy vehicles, I think hydrogen is a future because it gives you the chance to recharge. But for passenger cars, given that we get more efficient batteries, I think the current is better.

The budget means we should not sit and wait for new and improved technologies.

"In Norway, we are in a unique position with good advice, so we have the opportunity to participate and try new technologies. We are a small market, but we have gone a long way and we are listening.

"Today we see that, in particular, more expensive cars come with automatic braking systems, known as AEB, which means that the car will be braked even if the driver does not. Such equipment will eventually be available on models that can afford more. lead to minor accidents.

Similarly, the speed setting will automatically appear. In the future, the car will not allow you to drive above speed limits. The budget also believes that it will be a car on cars, so you will not be able to drive a car if you are affected by alcohol.

He thinks the self-drive will take time

But it's likely that the car will be completely self-designed.

"It's possible to get on some Norwegian roads, but with our network of big and small roads, I do not think it's real in the foreseeable future." But who knows? In the science fiction scenario, there are cars that can turn into a helicopter.
