CAGAIAN DE ORO CITI – Local officials and regional tourist officials have expressed hope that the recently launched "Light Festival" will attract tourists here who would turn into a stronger economic activity.
The Light Festival is an initiative of the management of Centrio Malla, a subsidiary of the Aiala Group of Companies, which is held annually before the Christmas season. It was launched last Friday (November 9th).
Mayor Oskar Moreno, who was summoned together with the Tourism Director of May May, Salvana-Unchuan, said the center helped keep a new tradition among the people of Cagaian de Oro who like to witness the special effects of lighting.
Over the past few years Moreno has allowed the city hall to cover the Christmas light. While lights have already been installed in the building since Saturday, it has not yet been announced when the official engagement ceremony is scheduled.
He expressed the hope that residents from nearby cities and provinces will visit and sponsor jobs in the city.
In the meantime, Unchuan said that the event could encourage more local tourists who are spreading from different regions.
"I always support this kind of gesture from every private entity, just to attract our tourists especially to our local residence in this way," she said.
This year, Centrio Mall is partnering with Valt Disney Company here in the Philippines to make a magnificent holiday for the theme "Reimage the Magic: Festival of Light".
The music will be provided by Disnei from a list of popular songs, with an orchestral performance organized by the delicious composer and former music director of Hong Kong Disneyland Roni Fortich.
Again, the spectacular light effects are supplemented by Voltaire de Jesus. Executive Director of Aiala Landa Meean B. Di, who organized the event, said that the whole country was always at its biggest ceremony this season and that it would continue to find ways to raise the Christmas experience of its customers.
