Back in 2019, Nintendo announced that 3DS and Wii U users located in Europe, Australia and New Zealand would no longer be able to top up their funds with an eShop credit card.
Japan is now part of this – with Nintendo’s customer support account on social networks, which today confirms that credit cards and prepaid cards will no longer be accepted from January 18, 2022, at 9 am this morning.
Although credit cards will no longer be an option, users will still be able to use eShop cards and use funds in shared NNID accounts. Do you still perform transactions on Wii U and 3DS eShop? Leave a comment below.
