MANILA – Taguiga Mayor Lino Caietano said on Monday that he was vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Chinese pocket of Sinovac, together with government frontiersmen, senior citizens and adults with accompanying diseases.
“I call on all Taguigenos to register through the Taguig Citizens’ Access and Engagement Register (Trace) to ensure your vaccination,” he said in a statement.
Caietano said the city government expects additional vaccines from AstraZeneca, Covocak, Covacin and Moderna to “reach the third quarter of the year”.
“This will help the city achieve its goal of fully inoculating the citizens of Taguig,” he said.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno confirmed that he was vaccinated on Sunday.
Governors, mayors and village heads are on the list of priorities for vaccination in the country, an official from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and local self-government said earlier.
Undersecretary Epimaco Densing told the ANC that officials “will not have to jump”, because they have been upgraded on the list of priorities of the vaccination program.
