KAZAN, November 15th. / Tass /. The premiere of Kazan on Wednesday marked the closing of the music festival "Denis Matsuev with Friends". Pianist Denis Matsuev performed with captain Igor Solvinski for piano and orchestra with the collective of the National Artist of Russia Alexander Stravinsky.
"Capriccio for piano and orchestra Stravinski is the premier work for the capital of Tatarstan," TASS press service of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic told. Before the festival, Matsuev told reporters that he was the first to perform the composition of Stravinsky with the State Symphony Orchestra of Tatarstan under the leadership of Sladkovsky.
The program of the first day of the festival included two Beethoven sonata (17th and 31st), Frederick Chopin's fourth ballet, Edvard Grieg's suite for Ibsenov Peer Gint and the piano concert of Edvard Grig. On Wednesday, the musicians performed the Great Sonata for the piano by Petar Tchaikovsky, Kaprićija for piano and Stravinsky and Ninth Symphony Dmitry Shostakovich.
Festival "Denis Matsuev with Friends" is a joint project of the Russian pianist and art director of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic. In 2018, it was held for the sixth time. The main opening of the event in 2017 was the premier performance of ballet music by Igor Stravinsky's "The Firebird" in the 1910 edition for Tatarstan's main city.
