German Deutsche Post DHL Group (BLG.N: Quotation, Profile, Research) said on Tuesday that net profit for the third quarter fell to 146 million euros from 641 million euros in the same period last year. Shareholder's earnings also fell from 0.15 € per share to 0.12 € per share in the same period.
At the same time, the company's operating profit for the third quarter of this year dropped 54.9% from the same period last year to 376 million euros. The company said operating profit was influenced by unreported costs. On the other hand, the profits of all sectors of the German company DHL Ekpress and Shipping Services increased.
Deutsche Post's revenues rose 1.4 percent in the third quarter to 14.85 billion euros, while revenues after seasonal factors increased by 4.7 percent in the same period.
Commenting on the results of the third quarter, Frank Apple, executive director of the Deutsche Post Group, said: "We are confident that by 2020 we will achieve all our target earnings from 2018"
