A five-day strike on the south-west rail could cause disruptions to thousands of runners moving to Roial Ascot next month.
Members of the Railway, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) should leave between Tuesday, June 18 and Saturday, June 22, including due to ongoing disputes over the role of guards.
If the strike goes on, it will affect the London Waterloo-Reading line that provides transport to a significant number of runners during Roial Ascot.
The SVR plans to negotiate with the RMT before the scheduled strike and urged the union to cancel the industrial action.
A spokeswoman for the SVR said: "With further talks on Acas already in the June 17th, for RMT Union to announce a week of strikes starting the following day, there is no true commitment to finding a solution.
"We remain committed to finding a solution that will help us build a better rail for our customers and colleagues, and if these attacks continue, they will cause unnecessary disturbances." We call on RMT to cancel this unnecessary industrial action so that the planned Negotiations with Aka can go further. "

RMT Secretary General Mick Cash said: "For more than three months, we have been trying to negotiate the conclusion of this dispute and it is entirely on the side of the management that the key issue of competencies that are key to the safety and role of the guards is not that. Because of this key failure of the SVR, and that we had no choice but to suspend the suspension and go back to the strike.
Nick Smith, Director of Race and Communication at Ascot, said officials would monitor the situation.
