Meghan Markle was a 'failure' in Hollywood, claims a royal biographer

Meghan Markle was "a failure" as an actress before taking over the role of Rachel Zane in "Suits" in 2011, claims biographer Princess Diana.

Andrew Morton gave a Duchess of Sussex, 37 compliments, on the occasion of her determination in a new interview.

"Let's not forget that, for ten years, her future career actress was unsuccessful," Morton said in the documentary "Megan and Markles: Family in War" (over the Sun). "For almost a decade, Meghan has been auditioning for films, advertisements and games."

"It was kind of, at 30, over the hill, in Hollywood terms, when she got this gig in" suits, "he said.

"The fact that she went on, the fact that she went to all those rehearsals and auditions with no job looks showed such determination that her father had permitted her and that led her where she is today."

Morton has long been critical of Markle since she and Prince Harry published their royal romance.

He previously described the humanitarian and former actress as a "social climber", citing in his book Meghan: The Hollywood Princess, that she had dismissed her first husband, Trevor Engelson, after she had succeeded at Suits.

"She was now her own wife, she earned stable income, made new friends and left, she did not depend on the relationship of her husband anymore," he wrote. "Her friends in Los Angeles noticed a change in her now when she was on her way up. She no longer had time for her friends she had known for years … the grid to her fingers, she seemed to rebuild her life, creating new friendships with those who could develop her career. "
