Miraflores Palace, Caracas. Through a smart card that can be recharged via Biopago BDV, a point of sale and Carnet de la Patria, the Caracas metro will implement a pilot plan for automated charging of the transport service.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Popular Power for Transport, Hippolito Abreu, who explained that “in the coming days, the entire surface transport system will be expanded” in order to promote electronic payment, whose cards will be sold in lockers at Caracas Metro Stations.
Meanwhile, expert Francisco Omana pointed out that consultation machines will be available so that users can verify the status or verification of smart card charging.
From the courtyards and workshops of the Caracas metro, located in La Paz, he highlighted the innovative working class capacity of the Caracas metro to create software and hardware for the electronic payment device.
In this regard, the President of the Republic Nicolas Maduro emphasized that Venezuelans are “ready to pay for public services”, because that turns into an increase in the quality of service provision.
